Poem: Just The Little Things

February 17, 2021
Just The Little Things
I hate the winter
But I love the night
When the wind is cold and the stars are bright When your breath turns to smoke
I hate the spring
But not when the rain stops
And the flowers sprout
Dark clouds fade away in late may
I hate the summer
But not the days when the air isn’t sticky But rather has a light glaze
The sun starts to set at nine instead of five I hate the fall
Just not when the wind is crisp and cold Or when the world feels lively and new not old
I hate the winter and the blizzards it brings But
love the snow…I love the little things I hate the
spring and the constant downfall But love the
rain…I just appreciate the little things I hate the
summer…and the droughts But I love the sun..
just the little things I hate fall and the
thunderstorms
But enjoy the thunder…the little things I hate
the whole puzzle and the bigger picture And
appreciate the single puzzle piece
